Dr. Ioannis Moutsios is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Ioannina, Greece, and a Visiting Researcher at synchrotron facilities, at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) in Grenoble, France. He received his Diploma in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Ioannina in 2014, his M.Sc. in Nanotechnology and Nanoscience from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2017, and his Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Technology from the University of Ioannina in 2022. Following the completion of his doctoral studies, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Institute of Materials Science of Mulhouse (IS2M-CNRS), France (2022–2024), where he gained extensive international research experience. He subsequently continued his postdoctoral research at the National Hellenic Research Foundation (2025). He has also been a Visiting Researcher at the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY, 9 shifts) in Hamburg, Germany, and at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) in Braga, Portugal (10 shifts). His research interests focus on the synthesis and characterization of advanced polymeric and hybrid materials, nanotechnology, organic photovoltaics and their applications in green energy, as well as the development of biomaterials and functional nanostructured systems for biomedical applications. To date, his research output includes 33 peer-reviewed scientific publications in international journals in the fields of polymers and materials science. He has also participated in national and international scientific conferences, delivering three oral presentations and presenting five posters.
